“I wanted to step outside conventional boundaries to produce a
manuscript with visual dynamics in graphic design in a manner that
adds value to the artistic representation of the story and to the
reader’s journey. Equally, if not foremost, I wanted to pay homage to
my sister Maria, who received art prizes for her watercolours before
her life was tragically cut short at the tender age of seven. In this
regard, the watercolours have been chosen from an aesthetic
perspective and for what may have been.”
